We negotiated a crucial anchor deal with BHS at The Parishes in Scunthorpe after Woolworths went into administration. We structured a long leasehold sale of 57,000 sqft whilst retaining part of the property which we subsequently let to a multiple food retailer, thereby creating additional rental income and enhanced capital value.
Case Study
Acting on behalf of a private investor we introduced luxury brand Rolex to Leeds by negotiating the letting of their new premises on Commercial Street which then received an £800,000 refit. We recommended the building surveyors who oversaw the works on behalf of the landlord, resulting in a state-of-the-art retail offering that is unique in Leeds and the first Rolex shop outside of London.

At the White Rose Shopping Centre we advised a joint venture between Land Securities and Sainsburys who wanted to down-size their store. A new mall was created with up-sized units for Next and River Island and further units for new entrants Zara and Schuh. We backfilled River Island with Republic and Next with Monsoon and Carphone Warehouse at record Zone A rents. We were also instrumental in a series of transactions which culminated in WH Smith downsizing, New Look upsizing, a cost saving move for Currys PC World and a brand new store for Superdry. The result of our strategic asset management is a popular and diverse shopping centre with retailers exclusive to an out of town centre in West Yorkshire.
